Six-Month Online Internship in International Relations
The International Institute for Strategic Affairs (IISA), an independent policy institute and think tank based in Stockholm, Sweden, and Washington, D.C., United States, is offering a six-month remote internship to qualified candidates from around the world.
About IISA
IISA combines strategic research with practical policy engagement. The Institute conducts studies, research, and training on international relations, strategic affairs, international law, public policy, and the ways in which legal and legislative frameworks affect societies.
As a multidisciplinary platform, IISA examines contemporary regional and global challenges from legal, political, economic, and strategic perspectives. Its work is intended to support informed policymaking, international cooperation, effective governance, and peaceful solutions to conflict.
The Internship
The internship offers students and recent graduates an opportunity to strengthen their research, analytical, and professional writing skills while contributing to the Institute’s work.
Responsibilities
Interns may be expected to:
- Conduct research on international relations, law, security, and related subjects.
- Write articles, reports, policy briefs, and research summaries.
- Contribute to individual and collaborative research projects.
- Review and organise relevant academic, legal, and policy sources.
- Participate in online discussions, meetings, and other Institute activities.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Eligibility
Applications are open to recent graduates and students in at least their fourth year of study. Relevant academic disciplines include:
- Political Science
- International Relations or International Studies
- History
- International Law or European Law
- Human Rights
- Security or Strategic Studies
- Other closely related fields
Required Qualifications
